One of the many things I love about being a blogger is getting to try out beauty products regularly. This week, I had the pleasure of trying both a foundation and mascara, 2 major staples in my beauty routine. See my thoughts on each below.
Becca Aqua Luminous Foundation : I was excited to try this foundation because I was looking for something with a lighter, more sheer coverage, now that warm weather has crept up out of no where. I’m not surprised that I love this, as I am usually pleased with Becca’s products. This foundation is fairly viscous. It’s not so runny that it’s unmanageable though. I applied it with a Beauty Blender, but you could even use your fingers. It’s a sheer formula, so it’s very forgiving as far as the application goes, you can’t really get it wrong.
On thing that I would like to note is that this formula seems to run a bit dark. I’m the second lightest shade in the range ( light) and I’m usually the third or fourth shade from the lightest.
It has a sheer, slightly glowy finish. It really just looked like bare skin on a good skin day. It feels breathable on the skin, not goopy or heavy at all. I was pleased with its wearability too! It held up well on my combination skin, and didn’t settle or separate.
I would highly recommend this for a light coverage, everyday foundation.
Guerlain Cils D’enfer Mascara: This is a fantastic mascara! But I would consider it a luxury or splurge purchase, rather than an everyday staple. I really enjoyed the blackest-black color and its volumizing formula. This mascara made my lashes super full and dark, without getting clumpy. It didn’t run, or flake off during the day either! 2 things I would note if pondering this purchase: this mascara has a scent, I would describe it as rosy or floral. It’s didn’t bother me, or irritate my eyes though. Also, the brush is one of those plastic ones. It didn’t bother me, or interfere with the application for me at all, but I know some people aren’t fond of plastic mascara brushes.
Have you tried either of these? Let me know what you think of them in the comments.
