Jaclyn Hill recently posted a ride or die makeup tag. This is one of the questions I’m also frequently asked. Ask & you shall receive! I’ve listed my ride or die makeup fav’s below.
Primer: Hourglass Mineral Vail– I don’t wear primer on a daily basis. But I use this on days I’m going to a special event, or if it’s super hot and I need my makeup to last. It works and doesn’t make me breakout like some primers.
Foundation: Everyday, Koh Gen Do-This is a nice light to medium coverage foundation. It’s easy to apply, blends out well and feels light on the skin, yet is still moisturizing.
Foundation: Special Event, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk – This has been a ride or die product of mine for a long time! It makes my skin look amazing, lasts a reasonable amount of time, and photographs beautifully.
Powder: Mac Mineralize Skinfinish– I like a light powder, something that’s not too intense or cakey. This lasts all day and is very natural looking in the skin.
Bronzer: Makeup Forever Pro Bronze Fusion– I prefer a natural looking bronzer, a sun kissed glow. This blends out wonderfully and never looks orange.
Highlighter: Anastasia That Glow– This palette give me 4 options in a range of shades! They’re all super glowy. I even use the bronzy shades as eyeshadow sometimes.
Concealer: Under eye, Too Faced Born This Way- I love a hydrating concealer, that doesn’t crease or accentuate fine lines. I finally found it with this one!
Concealer: Blemish, Urban Decay Naked concealer– a blemish needs a less moisturizing concealer, something that won’t slip off the oiliness during the day. This one really works for me!
Mascara: Lancôme Definicils – I’ve tried a ton of mascaras that I don’t like, so when I find a good one, it’s a keeper! This one adds length and volume, but is still clean and simple. I’m not a fan of sticky, clumpy mascaras. This one isn’t.
Blush: Hourglass- These blushes are so beautiful! They add a natural, luminous glow. They never look streaky or overdone like some blushes can.
Eyeshadow Palette: Tom Ford Nude Dip-I have so many eyeshadow palettes! It was hard to choose just one because I’m always using individual shadows out of each one. But if I had to pick just one, this is it! It has a variety of colors that work well with my skin tone, and the formulation of them is fantastic. They’re very pigmented, and blendable.
Lip color: Nars gloss in Dolce Vita- I like lip products that don’t feel gross on the lips! You know, too dry, clumpy or sticky. I also hate lippies that don’t last. This gloss is a great ‘my lips but better’ color. It lasts a reasonable amount of time, and isn’t sticky.
Fragrance: Tom Ford Soliel Blanc– This is a newer product for me, but I’m obsessed! This is a gorgeous feminine fragrance! It’s really different too. It’s not really floral, but it’s not fruity or musky either. I’d describe it as sophisticatedly beachy. There’s no heavy coconut or vanilla notes like other beach scents. It’s just a nice, clean, sweet without-being-too-sweet smell.
