A good morning routine helps start the day out right! It’s so important for me to start my day feeling good, and knowing I’ve taken care of myself.

Today, I’m sharing my morning routine with you! These are the things I do on days that I don’t have to rush out the door for meetings, appointments or whatnot.

The first thing I do when I wake up is chug a big glass of lukewarm lemon water. This helps to rehydrate and detoxify. Plus, if you think about it, it’s been 6 to 9 hours without any while you were sleeping.

Next, I wash my face with Cosrx Low PH morning cleanser. I follow that with a spritz of Caudalie Beauty Elixir, then moisturize with a seasonally appropriate moisturizer. Right now I’m loving Drunk Elephant’s Lala Retro Whipped cream. It’s super nourishing and hydrating, but it’s not greasy. It absorbs into skin, feeling hydrating, yet almost invisible!

I’m borderline obsessed with under eye care! It’s one of the first places we start to age.

I use Lancome’s Absolue Precious Cells eye cream. I allow both moisturizers to settle into my skin, and then I follow that with my SPF, Dior’s City Defense. It’s another great, non-greasy skincare item that is both a sunscreen of SPF 50, and an anti pollutant.

After my skin is taken care of, I make myself a cup of Genmaicha, which is a green tea with toasted brown rice in it. It’s tastier than plain green tea! I try to have this instead of coffee. It’s healthier, and I react badly to anything with high amounts of caffeine. It makes me very jittery and sets of my anxiety. While I’m having my tea, I get to work! I check emails and handle whatever necessary tasks that are on my agenda that day.

Once I’m finished with my tea, I move on to breakfast. I make a smoothie with Garden of Life Raw Vegan Protein and Greens powder, aloe coconut water, unsweetened almond milk, frozen fruit (my favorites are strawberries and blueberries). I like to add a dash of Tumeric and bee pollen for their health benefits. It sounds like a strange concoction, but it’s actually quite tasty!

Once I’m finished with a little more work, and my smoothie, it’s time to workout. I like to mix up my routine. Some days, I just hit the gym and do my own routine of cardio and strength training. A few days per week, I go to SoulCycle. We have a love hate relationship! It’s a crazy intense workout. I’d like to think I’m in decent shape, however, the first time I went, I remember thinking, “What have I gotten myself into??!” I wasn’t even sure I could make it through the entire class! But I did, and now I’m addicted. Other days, I go to Barre class. I go to one that is local to me, but I highly encourage you to find one in your area! It’s so good for toning up and encouraging a lean physique.

Starting out my day by taking care of myself helps me to be in the right frame of mind to help me take care of everything else on my to do list!
