Hi beauties! I wanted to take a minute and give you all a quick rundown of this Sephora Favorites Paint it Pink set. Which of the products in it are worth it??? I liked 6 of the 8 products, making this worth the $40 price. A Beauty Blender alone costs $22, so for me, this is a great buy. Keep reading to see which products passed my test.
Beauty Blender– Yes! This is one of my can’t-live-without-it products! My first introduction to the Beauty Blender was when I saw a friend putting on her foundation. She smeared it on thick! I was thinking how it was not going turn out well at all! Then she grabbed the Beauty Blender and everything blended out, like magic! It even picked up the excess that normally would have caused cake face.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Rose Gold– Yes! This is the year of glowing skin, or highlight on fleek! I love all of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors. This one is new to me. With a name like Rose Gold, you’d be right if you guessed it was a pinky-gold tone! It looks very beautiful and glowy on the skin. If you’re super fair, this might be too intense for you, but it’d work on lighter to dark skin tones.
Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish in Baby Love– Yes! I typically wear Shellac on my nails, but when I don’t, I prefer a nudeish nail polish. It goes with everything and if it chips, it’s not as noticeable. This nail polish is a great neutral shade, it went on smoothly, covered in 2 coats, and is pretty durable.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful– Yes! I’m a big fan of Tarte blushes. Their Christmas Palette of 5 shades is one of my go-to’s. I was excited to try this color out. It is pink, but not the bubblegum/Barbie pink that is too intense and unnatural. It blends out well and give a nice flush of color.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Scratch– Yes, depending on your skin tone. My skin tone is on the cusp of light and medium. I have difficulty making red, pink and purple tone eyeshadows work. If they’re too intense, I look sick, or like I’ve been crying. With that being said, this one does work on me! When applied lightly, it’s a nice seashell pink shimmer.
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara– Yes! If you follow my blog, you already know this is one of my favorite everyday mascaras. It’s not sticky or clumpy and it doesn’t flake off during the day. It’s a simple formula that you can throw on in 1 coat, no eyelash combing necessary.
Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lipstick in French Kiss– No! I wanted to like this lipstick, it’s a pretty, bright fuchsia pink. It’s the perfect Spring/Summer shade. The reason this one is a no for me is that it felt super dry on the lips. So dry that it was uncomfortable to wear. I had to wipe it off and go with something else.
Makeup Forever Artist Plexigloss in 202– No! This is another one that got voted off the island for its uncomfortable wear! This gloss is a peachy-pink, another pretty color, but… It is soooooo sticky! I’m talking gunky, like glue. If someone in the room sneezed, all of your hair would be stuck in this instantly!
Stay tuned for next week’s beauty post, a Hot or Not on Guerlain’s Meteorites Baby Glow foundation.
